In a spa, surfaces are never just a finish. They hold the light, carry the water and set the pace of the whole experience.
For almost forty years, SICIS has shaped luxury spa interior design projects around the world, combining glass mosaic, marble and Vetrite glass slabs with a design team that follows each project from the first sketch to installation.
Today, wellness rarely begins and ends at the spa door. It moves through pools, bathrooms, thermal areas and transition spaces, shaped by materials, light, water and the way surfaces feel. Hotel spas, thermal resorts, hammams and private wellness rooms all ask different questions. Our answer is never quite the same.
Good spa design begins with sensation: how a space feels under bare feet, how light changes in humid air, how water alters colour and reflection.
SICIS works with architects and interior designers to turn these sensations into surfaces. Patterns, gradients and custom artworks are developed for walls, floors, vaults and pools, with every composition drawn to scale.
Because the most successful spa interior design is not a purely decorative matter.

One project. Very different surfaces. Hundreds of possible combinations.
Glass mosaic brings depth, movement and reflection, with colours ranging from solid shades to iridescent and metallic finishes. Natural marble mosaic introduces the unmistakable character of stone, particularly suited to hammams and relaxation areas. Vetrite glass slabs allow large surfaces to become expressive architectural elements, creating a very different visual language for contemporary spa interiors.

Light adds another dimension. Backlit Vetrite and Gem Glass turn surfaces into luminous architectural elements, allowing colour, transparency and depth to change with the atmosphere of the space. In wellness environments, light no longer comes only from a fixture: it can come from the surface itself.
Used individually or together, these materials allow designers to work with colour, texture, reflection and light across different environments. Materials and atmospheres can change from one space to the next while remaining part of the same visual language — with the right spa tiles selected for the technical and aesthetic requirements of each zone.
Beauty has a harder job to do in a spa.
Water, steam, heat and constant cleaning make wellness environments particularly demanding. SICIS glass mosaic is non-porous and resistant to water, steam, thermal shock and cleaning chemicals, with colours that stay stable over time and slip-resistant finishes for wet floors and pool edges.
Few spaces show this better than the traditional hammam. Small tesserae follow benches, domes and curved walls with a freedom larger formats cannot match, and every hammam room is designed as a complete environment, where walls, seating, ceilings and light work together. In luxury spa design, performance is part of the design, even when nobody sees it.

Wellness rarely belongs to a single room. In hospitality projects, the experience can begin in a transition space, continue through changing areas, bathrooms or thermal zones, and culminate around water.
Mosaic, Vetrite, marble, light and colour give designers the tools to create continuity between these environments without making them identical. A reflection can return in another material. A colour can move from one surface to the next. A pattern can disappear and reappear elsewhere. The result is not repetition, but a recognisable spatial identity.
For hotels and resorts, this means approaching wellness as part of the wider guest experience, while developing spaces conceived for intensive daily use.
In residential projects, the same thinking can connect a home spa, steam shower, pool and wellness bathroom into a highly personal interpretation of wellbeing, developed with the attention normally reserved for a bespoke interior.
The treatment room may be the destination, but the true experience starts much earlier.

A beautiful idea still has to survive contact with reality.
SICIS works as a design partner alongside architects, interior designers and hospitality groups, helping translate creative concepts into surfaces that can actually be produced and installed.

From medical wellness retreats to thermal resorts, SICIS surfaces have been used in some of the world's most distinctive examples of luxury spa design.
