Some materials tell the same story from the day they are installed. Mirror Mosaic takes a different approach. Its surface interacts with light, absorbs the changing colours of the sky, responds to the seasons and transforms every variation of light into part of the architectural experience.
Developed by SICIS for both interior and exterior applications, Mirror Mosaic brings the language of mosaic into the world of reflective surfaces, giving architects a level of design freedom that large mirror panels simply cannot achieve. Curved walls, complex façades, sculptural volumes and architectural details become part of a surface that continues to evolve long after construction is complete.
Architecture is often imagined as something fixed. Mirror Mosaic introduces time as a design material. Its surface responds to changing light throughout the day, revealing different tones, reflections and visual depth as the environment evolves. The sky, trees, people, rain and changing seasons all become active elements of the architecture, creating an experience that is never quite the same twice.
At certain moments, when sunlight reaches the thousands of mirrored tesserae at just the right angle, the façade comes alive with countless points of light that appear and disappear within minutes. It is an effect that photography can only hint at, yet one that is almost impossible to forget once experienced in person.

Mirror Mosaic was conceived around a simple idea: using mosaic to overcome the limits of traditional mirrored surfaces. Its tessellated structure naturally follows curved walls, columns, vaults, niches and complex geometries, opening up entirely new design possibilities. Light gains rhythm, depth and texture, creating a dynamic surface that continuously changes with the surrounding environment.

Alongside the classic mirror finish, the collection now includes eight colour variations, ranging from neutral tones to bold fluorescent shades with iridescent effects. Each finish reshapes the personality of the surface while interacting with light in a unique way, allowing every finish to reveal a different visual character depending on the visual angle.

Every new material promises performance, durability and aesthetic value. We chose to do something different: we installed it on our own headquarters.
Part of the SICIS headquarters in Ravenna is clad in Mirror Mosaic because we wanted to observe the material under real conditions, season after season, in bright summer sunlight, through rain, fog and winter skies. Today, that façade has become the product's most convincing proof. It constantly changes its appearance, captures a different landscape every day and demonstrates that architecture can continue to surprise long after the project has been completed.

Behind its visual impact lies proprietary SICIS technology, developed to ensure durability, weather resistance and high solar reflectance, even in demanding exterior applications. Mirror Mosaic also contributes to reducing surface overheating and supports contemporary sustainable building strategies, making it an advanced solution for façades, building envelopes and forward-looking architecture.

Can an entire exterior façade be clad with Mirror Mosaic? Are there any dimensional or geometric limitations?
Yes, Mirror Mosaic was developed for both interior and exterior applications, on flat and curved surfaces. Thanks to its tessera-based format, it adapts to columns, vaults, niches and complex geometries without the dimensional constraints of a rigid panel.
What solar performance does the material offer?
Mirror Mosaic has been tested by Centro Ceramico in accordance with ASTM E903, ASTM C1371 and ASTM E1980: Solar Reflectance 0.56 (56%), Thermal Emittance 0.83, Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) 63–65. These figures qualify it as a material with measured performance, not simply a decorative surface.
How does it compare to a large mirrored glass panel in terms of reflection?
A continuous panel generates a single reflected image and concentrated points of reflection. Mirror Mosaic fragments the reflection into thousands of micro-reflections, producing a dynamic, multifaceted surface that changes throughout the day.
What is its resistance to frost, UV, thermal shock and chemical agents?
The material is designed to withstand weathering in the most demanding exterior applications. Specific tests on frost, UV exposure, thermal shock and chemical resistance are currently being validated.
Does the material reduce glare compared to a continuous mirrored surface?
The fragmentation of the reflection is designed to reduce the concentration of glare compared to a continuous panel. Specific measurement and certification of this effect is currently under development.
Has bird safety been verified?
Dedicated bird-friendly building design tests are underway; results will be published as soon as they are available.
Are CAD/BIM details and technical documentation available for project integration?
Yes, CAD/BIM details, technical specifications and project documentation are available and can be requested directly from the SICIS team.
